Pips and a new project

 Apricot pips

Thanks to a generous donation we at last  got rid of all the dust at the Hope Centre. On 10 September 2010 a whole truckload of apricot pips was delivered. SiceloTshozi and Charlie Chipunza immediately started to spread them. It looks great. Thanks a lot!

10 September was also the start of a new project! We had an interview with Zukiswa Menani and from Monday 13 September she will guide up to 40 schoolchildren from age 7 to 12 every afternoon from 3 until 6 p.m. We hope to inspire and motivate them to make more out of life ... and of course we want to give them a good time!

Welcome aboard, Miss Zukiswa!

Management training in Zolani

Libre Foundation in Arnhem, the Netherlands, send out two trainers, Mrs Harriet Ordelmans and Mr Francesco Melita, to teach the locals involved in projects at the Good Hope Centre management skills.

The training was given over 5 full days and the 11 participants were extremely motivated; no wonder all of them were granted a certificate as proof of their new skills.

All costs involved were paid by the Dutch organisation. Even a daily hot lunch was included! Thanks a lot Libre Foundation for this great opportunity.

Zolani Art in Cape Town

Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town opened on Nelson Mandela Day 18th July 2010 a new wing for children suffering from cancer. Two mosaic hearts made by Bonaile Christina Pierre and Zukiswa Menani will cheer up the wall of the new children's ward. MAmA Zolani wants the children and their parents to know: we did it it because we care!
